Dr. Sang-Wook Kang is a Professor of Surgery in the Endocrine Division at Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea. He is an internationally recognized endocrine surgeon specializing in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery, with particular expertise in robotic and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Kang obtained his M.D. from Yonsei University in 2000, followed by his M.S. in 2005 and Ph.D. in 2018 from the same institution. He completed surgical residency training at Yonsei University and advanced fellowships in endocrine surgery and adrenal surgery in Korea, Germany, and the United States.

Dr. Kang has been a pioneer in robotic thyroid and adrenal surgery and has played a significant role in advancing gasless transaxillary robotic thyroidectomy techniques. He currently serves in several leadership roles within international and Korean surgical societies, including Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Association of Robotic Surgeons and Director within multiple Korean surgical organizations.

With an extensive academic record, Dr. Kang has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and contributed to several international textbooks on endocrine and robotic surgery. His research focuses on thyroid cancer, robotic endocrine surgery, and minimally invasive surgical approaches. Dr. Kang is actively involved in surgical education and training and is recognized globally for his contributions to endocrine and robotic surgery.
